Prasad Roy | BSNN | Usthi | 25-09-2014:: Bhavani Sena members and local villagers of Satghara, Nainanpur, Chousha, Kuleswar under Usthj Police Station blocked the Usthi-Dostipur Main Road for more than Two hours in a protest of local Muslim Hooliganism and illegal cow market beside Usthi Police Station, today on 25-09-2014.

At about 1-30 pm a Bus (SD-27 Route, Dostipur to Akhra) bearing  WB 19 4468, collided with two students of local Usthi KCPM Institution returning their homes after exam. riding bicycles near SBI. The students were saved but injured also. The Muslim bus driver, conductor and helpers were tried to rush driving them on wrong side.

While the injured students viz. Sujit (Bhola) Sardar and Prokash Gharami protested such uncivilized manner of the Muslim drivers, they started beating ruthlessly those students all on a sudden and rushed away immediately.

Hearing this news of assault upon Hindu students by Muslim Bus drivers and his helpers, local public started gathering to protest.  Local Muslim goondas  Abbas and Kalo came to the spot to disperse the protesting public under the instruction of 2^nd Police Officer of Usthi PS - Md Khalekuzzaman. While some people and guardians of the injured Hindu students reached to their School (Usthi KCPM Institution) for the intervention of the Head Master, Md Abul Kalam Shah, he denied to intervene as the accident took place outside the school (actually as the victims were Hindus).

Seeing all these Islamic partisan activism, the Hindu protest flared up gradually. Sooner the news also reached to the leaders and supporters of Bhavani Sena. Leaders of Bhavani Sena Pratap Hazra, Satya Gharami, Goutam Mondal immediately reached the spot and started road blocking at 2-30 pm in protest of Islamic hooliganism and illegal cow market beside Usthi Police Station. As soon as as Bhavani Sena leaders reached the spot all the Muslim goondas fled away. A long queue of vehicles halted both sides of the blockade on road. The protesters raised slogan against discrimination against Hindus and illegal cow market here and there.  

A large contingent of Police force came to the spot and asked to remove the blockade. But, the protesters demanded immediate apology by the perpetrators and removal of illegal cow market in the name of cow pound beside Usthi Police Station. For some points the Hindu protestors had a heavy altercation with Police Officials and finally, the IC of Usthi PS, Mr. Subir Dhali apologized for the nuisance so far created by the Muslim anti Socials and assured strict action against them. Then the road blockade was lifted at about 5.00 pm.
The Hindu protesters vehemently protested the culpable activities of Second Officer of Usthi PS, Md Khalekuzzaman as supported by Md Giyasuddin Molla, the Minister of State Minority Department and the local TMC MLA as well.

Hearing the Hindu agitation and road blockade, the Muslim cattle traders disappeared within seconds taking away all the cows and cattle from the illegal market beside Usthi PS. The Inspector-in-Charge of Usthi PS assured to check every violation of illegal cow trading, cow slaughter and Islamic menace in the area.

Now the ruling TMC has started direct denial to the Central Govt Programs with lame excuse as seen in a tussle of State Education Department and HRD (Human Resource Development) in the Union Govt. 

Government schools in West Bengal will not make any arrangement for students to watch Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s live address on Teachers Day and many private schools too may skip the programme under their influence.

West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said on Wednesday that there was neither the time nor the infrastructure for making such arrangements in schools.

“We will be very busy with our own programmes. Our Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will felicitate teachers at Netaji Indoor stadium on the day,” he said. 

Not only that, two education department officials were removed from their posts on Wednesday for allegedly uploading on the department’s website a circular stating that the schools in three districts would have to arrange for broadcasting the Prime Minister’s programme on Teachers’ Day.

The government had showcaused the two officials and ordered a probe against them on Tuesday.

A source said showcause notices had also been issued to the inspectors of schools of the three districts — Nadia and North and South 24-Parganas.

Education minister Partha Chatterjee dubbed the removal of the two officials “routine transfer”.

“The government cannot take any punitive action against the officials as they are yet to respond to the showcause notices. The government will decide whether they would be punished or not after receiving their replies,” Chatterjee said.

The minister, however, made it clear that stern action would be taken against the officials if the probe found them guilty.

The notification, originally issued by the human resource development ministry, appeared on the school education department’s website at 5pm on Tuesday. It was removed at 6.30pm at minister Chatterjee’s behest.

The circular stated that the schools in the three districts would have to arrange for TV sets, projectors, screens and amplifiers for the 3pm-4.45pm broadcast on September 5.

“I have told the officials concerned that we can’t telecast the speech in schools as we have our own event on September 5,” Chatterjee said.

An annyoing Education minister of West Bengal Partha Chatterjee clarifies that "about 100 teachers from across the State will be awarded ‘Shiksha Ratna’ by the government on September 5".

Many private schools under TMC influence in the city too said they would not be able to make arrangements for the programme.

But, Mahadevi Birla Academy principal Anjana Saha when contacted said arrangements were being made for screening Prime Minister’s interaction but since most of the students leave for home after 2.30 pm the school authorities are not sure of how many of them would attend it.

Hertiage School principal Seema Sapru said the school was encouraging students to watch the interaction, the first of its kind, at home since the school gets over by 2 p.m. and the authorities would be busy with their own programmes on the occasion.

Modern High School principal Devi Kar said the authorities would not be able to make any arrangement for the screening.

But, the question is very alarming that how a state department can negate a central govt programme for a political aversion or hegemony so far. 

Earlier, Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani also slamed so called 'politicisation' of Centre's Teachers' Day plans. 

Amidst this row over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's planned interaction with students on Teachers' Day, HRD minister Smriti Irani said that the participation of students in the event was "voluntary". 

She stressed that September 5, the birth anniversary of former President the late S Radhakrishnan, will continue to be celebrated as 'Teachers' Day'.

"This particular activity is voluntary in nature. If it is being politicized, then I would say it is regrettable," Irani told reporters when asked about the objections raised in some states over the Centre's directive to them to ensure students' participation in the event.

States like West Bengal have voiced dissent over the entire exercise with its Education Minister Partha Chatterjee saying they have little time in which to make the necessary arrangements for it.

Eminent Educationists and some lawmakers both in the ruling and opposition parties also condemned the matter of rejection of PM's web speech or interaction with the students in school in a special day dedicated to the Teachers of the country. 

Actually, Education is in the concurrent list of 7th Schedule in Indian Constitution. So, State cannot go such in a whimsical way to scrap a National programme for educational purpose.

Bengal’s politics is at nadir and with each day it passes, miseries are rising steadily, obviously with no imminent end to the humongous crisis thanks to a megalomaniac regime. How dreadful the state of affairs in the state is now can be ascertained from the horrific saga of Probal Chandra (name changed for security), a fresh student at the South Calcutta Law College (SCLC), known for its educational eminence for decades.

According to reports that have come in, Probal, on account of his disinclination to join the student wing of reigning Trinamool Congress or Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP), was abducted by the TMCP leaders within the college premises on September 3, 2014 and was virtually beaten to death almost. Due to merciless thrashing, his lips and eyes got injured while his right eye, when rescued by her elder sister’s relentless efforts, was found to pop out almost. Moreover, muriatic acid or hydrochloric acid was spread on the floor of Students’ room and Probal was asked to lick it. The incident abetted by retaliation was enough to make him unconscious.

Later on, the hapless victim or Probal Chandra was kept in an abandoned store room for hours and he was rescued from there finally. The chance communication of one of his friends to Krishna (name changed too), elder sister of Probal, led to his final release under the auspices of a special police team from Lalbazar.

But, before that the TMCP perpetrators forcefully managed a written statement from Probal for his concocted misbehavior with girl students and drinking alcohol in the campus.

Miss Mamata Banerjee, the CM of WB and all in all for the Trinamool state of affairs may be proud for making some prospective Arabul, Idrish, Iqbal or Anubrata also from the campus of SCLC.

But Krishna could not file any formal FIR against the perpetrators out of fear and this is not without reason. When a police team from local Gariahat police station went to South Calcutta Law College for an official investigation, TMCP’s members, backed by its queasy leadership, was found to be belligerent enough. The might of warring students was sufficient to make Krishna discard the idea of lodging any FIR. The Chandra family is still in fear and has decided to change the college of their ward once and for all.

Prasad Roy | BSNN | Diamond Harbour | 03 Sept 2014:: In the heat of September mid noon, a small truck, loaded with 7 (seven cows and bulls all under the age of 7 years) with other 10-15 goats, was passing through the busy NH 117, in an intolerable condition to the pity animals violating all animal transportation rules, prohibition animal cruelty provisions, municipal cattle licencing acts and so on under the courtesy of Diamond Harbour Police and General Administrations. 

For a traffic jam, the vehicle no. WB 41 F 3358 halted for a while near Janata More of Diamond Harbour Station Bazar when a traffic police came to the truck for an enquiry, but when the helper of the truck showed a chit describing its destination to a illegal cattle market named 'Hazi Rahamat Hat' near Paler More, Kamarpole, PO Sarisha under Diamond Harbour Police Station, the traffic police allowed the truck to proceed with taking a bribe of Rs. 100 only. The police on duty checked nothing nor saw the pity condition of the animals being carried with fodder or water or without any valid documents of purchase or any medical certificates. 

A scull capped and long bearded bike rided man thanked the police twice and spitted thrice on road before following the cattle loaded vehicle. 

Diamond Harbour is rapidly changing as a Mujaheddin hub. All the anti-social and unlawful activities are being rampantly conducting by the Muslim Criminals with a passive permission of the the Police and Administration. 

And hold  please to take a note  that all these Talibanic activities are being promoted by two chief operators of the Harbour town viz. Md Sajahan Molla of KWIL (a Saradha like big cheat fund - while Sudipta is in Jail, Sajahan is moving freely as he is a great 'Bhaijan' of our Didi) and Raich Molla, a businessman overtly  but  a gang star covertly. Both of them are very close to TMC and local MLA, Mr Dipak Halder (mind his great speech: rape held in previous times, rape is happening now and  rape will be done in future also). 

But, what is role of the Police or SDO, Diamond Harbour and IC of DH PS? The cows and cattle are being transported through the Diamond Harbour Municipality and adjacent placed in open daylight violating all rules and regulation and committing severe animal cruelty. But, the so called culturally accailmed   SDO and IC are helping the cow smuggling and illegal slaughter racket in the areas for a very mysterious reasons. 

Though the majority Hindu citizens condemn this inhuman and illegal activities of illegal cow trafficking, slaughtering, beef shop, hooliganism, there is no initiative by the Police and Administration to  stop all these nefarious appeasements to minorities indulging in criminal affairs.

There are many illegal cattle markets in Diamond Subdivision including an unique cattle market run in the period of Bakri Eid beside the wall of Usthi Police station as mentioned in a status report  of Animal Welfare Board of India, Chennai.

West Bengal Politics, Administration, Police want to crush Hindu Organisations in West Bengal.

Under political pressure from Ruling Party (TMC), the West Bengal Police is plotting to ensure untroubled Cow Slaughter in maximum places very much illegally.

Hindu Existence (Special Investigating Team) | Kolkata |13-10-2012 :: Through its Valuable Judgements dt 02.11.2011 and 13-10-2011, the Honb’le Calcutta High Court categorically said that “the officials of the State and local bodies have no power to facilitate holding of markets for trading of cattle for sacrifice and also the movement of cattle for the said purpose on the occasion of Id-uz-Zoha”.  Earlier, the Supreme Court of India reiterated that “sacrifice of a cow on Bakr id Day is not an obligatory overt act for a Musalman to exhibit his religious belief and ideas”. In many occasions the appex court directed that “such slaughter cannot be a religious purpose because it is not a part of religious requirement for the Musalmans..”  In fine Cow slaughter in the name ofMedicinal, Research or Religious purposes is strictly prohibited as per the directions given by the Honb’le courts time to time. In West Bengal one can procure beef from the authorised slaughter houses and permitted outlets, obviously not violating the West Bengal Animal Slaughter Control Act, 1950 in force.

But, unfortunately the Police in West Bengal allowing Animal Cruelty, Ghastly Slaughtering and Perilous Pollution in these days of ensuing Bakar Idd on 27th Oct, 2012, by violating Preventions of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, 1960; Animal Transportation Act; WB Pollution Control Act; WB Animal Slaughter Control Act, 1950 and the relevant judgements  of different Hon’ble courts. The political and police nexus in different places in West Bengal is promoting local Cow markets (Garu-hat) and the illegal transportation for Cow Slaughter in ensuing Bakar Idd and taking huge amount of speed money-bribe from the unauthorized cow traders and transporters.

This news coming from every corners of West Bengal and the ruling TMC (All India Trinmool Congress) has framed a policy to allow maximum cow markets-cow slaughter for Bakar idd to satisfy its Muslim Vote Bank. For example, the Usthi PS has arranged an illegal Cow trade point just adjacent to Police Station itself (Northern side of PS, in between PS and Usthi Agricultural Nursery).  In Joynagar PS area, big cow markets are presently seen in Mouzpur and Biswanathpur villages. In Sahararhat (Falta PS), the Beef-eaters are canvassing such a illegal Cow market there on mike. Not only that, in some areas Police is trying illegal Cow Slaughter in new places under political pressure.

On 12-10-2012, Sri Sudip Singh (M. +919831115206). Officer-in-Charge, Usthi Police Station invited Sri Pintu Mahish of vill-Pianjganj for a discussion over a General Diary made by him (Pintu Mahish) on 4-10-2012 through registered post (book no. 9508, receipt no. 178). In course  of the discussion, Mrs. Papiya Sultana, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Falta Zone, Ph.  2448-0366 , M. +919874690988 , Fax-03174-241100), South 24 Parganas also appeared in that meeting very interestingly. Through out the meeting, the Police authority pressurized Pintu for negotiating a cow slaughter in Pianjganj village. A bold Pintu negated the proposal of Police to allow cow slaughter in that village only to satisfy the Muslim brothers and sisters of the Muslim Police Officer Papiya Sultana. Further he said to the police officials not to favour anybody but to uphold the law of the land and the verdicts of Hon’ble Courts. It is heard that the O/C of Usthi Police Station is hatching a plan to allow the cow slaughter by a crooked means and set a further meeting on 13-10-2012 evening. But, so far it is gathered that the Police has not formally invited the village leaders of Pianjganj in the All Party Meeting on 13-10-2012. But, aresolution may be adopted to permit an OPEN COW SLAUGHTER IN PIANGANJ VILLAGE violating all the rules in broad day light.

It was very much astonishing that an Officer-in-Charge is negotiating for an illegal cow slaughter in a convened meeting and a Deputy Superintendent of Police is trying to convincing their inability to do anything if such a cow slaughter may happen in a cattle house of a personal occupancy. All the proceedings say a police intention to allow an illegal cow slaughter in Pianganj area, where Hindus are united to resist it in both legal and agitational way.

Police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) also entered and enquired into the village of Pianjganj and took some sample of  posters of Bangiya Arya Pratinidhi Sabha Posters from the wall where a SAVE COW – SAVE NATION call was envisaged in connection of a Rashtra Raksha Sammelan (Protect the Nation Meet) on 09-10-2012 at Kolkata. The Kolkata Police did not allow that meeting to make a repression upon the Save Cow Activists and maintained the State Policy of Miss Mamata Banerjee (Chief Minister, West Bengal) to curb out all the Hindu Force from West Bengal step by step.

On the other hand, cross border cow transportation and cow-theft in rural areas in North 24 Pgs, South 24 Pgs, Nadia and Murshidabad are getting optimum rates due the inaction of BSF and State Police in West Bengal.

The Police is now trying to arrest the Save Cow Activists (Go Bhakta) in different place in West Bengal including in the area of Usthi Police Station.

But, the Go Bhaktas in West Bengal in various forums and in Bangiya Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Arya Veer Dal, Rashtriya Go Raksha Mission, Rashtriya Go Sewa Manch, Manishika, Samarpan, Rashtriya Go Raksha Sena, Hindu Existence – Go Raksha Vahini etc. have been united to SAVE COWS IN WEST BENGAL.

In last two days in Kulti area (Burdwan) and Jharkhan Border, 67 Cows in Border areas, 15 Cows in Nirsa and 7 Cows in Kulti have been recovered from the illegal Muslim Cow Traders. 3 cows with valid documents were taken to the custody of Police to return the original owners to retain and not to be slaughtered any way in this critical juncture for avoiding any further tension.

In the last couple of days, the Save Cow Activists  had recovered 5 Cows from Salt Lake IT Sector (Techno-polish) and put in the safe custody of Rajasthan G0 Kalyan Trust  Goshala near Barasat. These cows were being transported in a very small vehicle (Chotta Hathi) very wretchedly violating various attracted section of law. Now, Firhad Hakim (Bobby), Urban Development Minister of West Bengal is trying hard to take those 5 Cows for (fake) petting. Then why that vehicle on which the cows were being transported was superscribed with “KURBANIR GARU” on its window screen? It is reported that some Muslim fanatics and the group of Bobby Hakim have given a bond of Rs. 70,000/= to take out the Cows from the Goshala.

 

The position of Cow protection in West Bengal is in a very vulnerable position as the Ruling Party is not maintaining the Verdict of Hon’ble Supreme Court of Indian and Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta. In many places Police and local administration are allowing illegal Cow Markets (Garu-hat) and Cow transportation as narrated above, though totally banned by the Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta.

The tensions related to hurting Hindu sentiments by slaughtering cows at various places in the event of  Bakar idd may affect the peace and harmony of the State. And it is not desirable anyway.

Despite all these, some sincere and patriot Police officials are exceptionally endeavouring hard to protect the Cow-Wealth in the light of exactness of the law and the judgements of Hon’ble Courts.

• Like MP, other BJP-ruled states such as Gujarat have banned cow slaughter and the sale, purchase and transportation of beef. The Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill, 2010, is awaiting the Governor’s assent. The bill too includes the search-and-seizure clause, but it is vested with policemen above the rank of sub-inspector.
• Tamil Nadu bans cow slaughter but not the consumption of beef.
• In Punjab and Haryana, cow slaughter is a criminal offence. The sale of beef is banned but consumption is not penalised.
• Maharashtra bans the killing of cows but bullocks, female buffaloes and calves can be killed on getting a fit-for-slaughter certificate.
• West Bengal’s Animal Slaughter Control Act bans the slaughter of healthy cows with offences carrying jail terms of up to six months. There is no ban on the consumption of beef or slaughter if carried out in government or municipal slaughterhouses after a certificate from a veterinarian. Claiming that the Trinamool Congress government in 16 months has fulfilled all its pre-2011 Assembly election commitments to the minorities, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in a Govt.  function in Netaji Indoor Stadium on Wednesday 10-10-12 that it is giving utmost importance to minority welfare. Mamata Banerjee handed over bicycles to 34 Muslim girls studying in Madarsah (Quran School) in and around the city. Bicycles were also gifted to 760 other girls from minority schools in various parts of the city. “This is also a form of woman empowerment,” said the chief minister. She also disbursed aid under various schemes of the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department and West Bengal Minorities Development and Financial Corporation. God knows how the women empowerment can happen in such a blatant deprivation with the  Hindu women and girls. Notoriously Mamtata Banerjee is dividing the society and even the students in tender ages with a filthy discriminatory method and hurt the Hindu girl students as they are not getting the by-cycles from the Govt. as they are not in Muslim community.

“I have kept the Minority Affairs Department in my hands because it is important for our government and requires continuous monitoring,” she said while addressing a gathering. Miss. Banerjee’s remarks are significant in view of the upcoming rural polls where the minority vote will be crucial. The scenario is filled with the heavy minority appeasement.

“Before the Trinamool Congress came to power, four lakh students were given loans and scholarships. We have increased this to 17 lakhs in 2011-12 and in the coming year we will extend the benefit to 22 lakh students,” Miss. Banerjee said

The budget of the Minority Affairs and Madrasa Education Department has been raised to Rs 1,000 crore, she said, pointing out that an additional budgetary allocation of Rs 350 crore has been made to the department.

She has also declared forthcoming establishments of  56 Muslim marketing hubs, where 56000 Muslims will get employments in coming days.

Mamata Banerjee  has already knocked the headlines by declaring Rs. 2500 pm as Imam Honorarium (now giving) and Rs. 1000 for Muazzins with other facilities, sanction of 10000 Madrashas in West Bengal, establishment of Aligarh Muslim University in WB, three Haj Towers in a row, huge loan and subsidy to the Muslim youths etc. etc.

Though Mamata Banerjee is habituated beating her own drum of success, most of the fund has come to West Bengal from Central Govt., through  the multi-sectoral development project (MSDP) for poor Muslim women, launched under the Prime Minister’s 15-point programme for minorities, which followed the Sachar report on so called Muslims’ plight.

As per the report available from Union minority affairs ministry , it is said that the state had received Rs 800 crore towards the scheme last year (20111-12) but will receive Rs 1,100 crore this year (2012-13).

She described her government’s decision to bring the minorities under the ambit of reservation by including them in the list of Other Backward Classes (OBC) as a major achievement. For fulfilling her desire Mamata Banerjee’s  Govt has also included Sheikh/Shaik (Sk.) Muslim community in the State OBC list and declared the matter publicly.

Of the 144 different categories who will benefit from the 17 per cent OBC reservation, 87 categories (59 in class A and 28 in class B) are Muslim minority, she said. See the calamity for Hindu OBC. only 57 Hindu communities are in OBC list and practically, they are the real minority in OBC people in West Bengal. “About 13-14 per cent reservation for OBCs the maximum will be for the Muslim minorities,” Miss Banerjee added.

She claimed the other achievement of her government related to minority welfare was the declaration of second language status to Urdu in areas where the Urdu-speaking population is more than 10 per cent.

Urging the people to maintain calm during the upcoming festivals, Miss. Banerjee warned those inciting communal tensions during the festivals. But, does not she know well that her Muslim brothers are the torch bearer of communal tensions in West Bengal ? Knowing fully well, she is telling a thing and doing another.

The Durga Puja festival (October 20-24) will be followed by Id-ul-Zuha on October 27, (2012) she said, adding that both are very important festivals for the State. Her intentions was readily available in reflections for allowing illegal cow trading/transport / holding market/ all for cow slaughter (all completely prohibited by Calcutta High Court) near Durga Puja Pandals must be allowed without hindrance.

Mamata Banrjee is now being as an Islamic tool of fulfilling Zinnah’s desire to keep Bengal out of Bharat. So, she is right to turn down the dream of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee : West Bengal as a safe and secured land on Bengal Hindus. Shaking the hands of the descendants of the old Muslim Leaguers viz.  Nurar Rheman Barkati, Idrish Ali, Sultan Ahamed, Taha Siddique etc.,  Mamtaz Banu Arzee is rejuvenating the Muslim League’s activism in West Bengal again. The recentmarch to American Centre in Kolkata by the fanatic Muslims is a good example for promotion of Islamic activities in Mamata’s regime.

If we consider the distribution of bicycle only to Muslim girl students in front of the vacant look of the depriving Hindu girl students is simply an introduction of the sadist attitude of Mamata Banerjee, we can’t a give a full stop there as Mamata Banerjee has the blasting power with optimum  Islamic arrogance to destroy  total Hindu clan from West Bengal.

Hindu Doctor mercilessly beaten to death by Muslim hooligans for tease protest.

Hindu doctor attacked for protesting lewd remarks at neighbour's daughter, dies grievously hurt by Muslim hooligans. 

Barasat | 4th Sept. 2012 | Spotlight Media Service :: Sheikh Jamaluddin and Sirajul Islam - reportedly, two Muslim Bangladeshi illegal migrants murdered a Hindu Doctor named Bikashbandhu Mallick as he tried to stop a threat to rape of Hindu girls in a neighboring house at Purba Icchapur village in Kadambagachi area of Barasat near Kolkata on Monday, 3rd Sept 2012. Smt. Mamata Banerjee's (Chief  Minister of West Bengal) adminstration allegedly deterred police from taking any prompt action against the miscreants as they are from precious minority community.

Apprehending Police inaction the agitating crowd rampaged nearby country liquor pubs and the illegal narcotic vending stalls and put fire on the hide outs of the anti socials, mainly from the Muslim community.

TOI Correspondent from Barasat reports:  ""A 62-year-old homoeopath, who was beaten up by a couple of drunken eve-teasers, died after a cardiac arrest in Barasat Kamdambagachi on Monday afternoon. One of the accused was later arrested from his hideout.

Bikash Bondhu Mullick was attending to his patients in his chamber when the two youths - Sheikh Jamaluddin and Sirajul Islam - started a drunken brawl outside his chamber. Mullick went out as the commotion grew louder.

He found the duo passing lewd comments at the teenage daughter of his neighbour. Though the girl was inside her house, Mullick protested against the duo's indecent behaviour. When they refused to pay heed, Mullick started shouting at them.

Jamaluddin then allegedly caught Mullick by a hand and started pulling him towards the road with Sirajul hurling a string of abuses at him. As the heated argument continued, the duo allegedly pushed Mullick, who fell over a tree trunk. Writhing in pain, he caught hold of his chest and fell unconscious. Sensing trouble, the duo fled at once.

Only then did Mullick's family members and other local residents muster the courage to come out. They took him to Barasat district hospital at once, but Mullick was declared dead. Mullick was known for his benevolent activities in the area and was popular for his good behaviour.

As the news of the death spread, a mob launched an agitation alleging police inaction against criminals in the area. They also claimed that police had refused to dismantle some temporarily constructed sheds inside a local park (Kola Bagan), which, they alleged, was a popular hunting ground for the goons. The locals burnt down the sheds and a ramshackle building where anti-socials gathered every night. Some hooch dens in the area were also destroyed.

"Seven to eight youths drink alcohol in the open every night. They tease young girls. No one can dare walk by the park. Drunken brawls are rampant. Despite repeated appeals, the police took no step," alleged Asim De, a local resident.

"My father had protested against the anti-socials several times. He was repeatedly threatened with dire consequences. He had recently undergone a bypass surgery. When they pushed him, he suffered a cardiac arrest and died on the spot," sobbed daughter Malati Mullick.

Within two hours of the incident, police swung into action and arrested Jamaluddin from a hideout at Purba Icchapur in Kadamba Gachi.

"We have already arrested one of the accused. Raids are being conducted to nab the others. A police picket has been posted in the area to avoid further violence. We are trying to find the other accused. The arrested will be produced in court on Tuesday," said a senior police official.""

As Late (Dr.) Bikashbandhu Mallick was very much popular for his dedicated medical profession and social services, a shocking grief overwhelmed the localities with a spate of rejection and  retaliation.

In the changed scenario of so-called 'CHANGE'  in West Bengal, the Hindu commoners here always fear an Islamic hooliganism where the Hindus are marginally or absolutely  minority. Though, the Barasat area is still of a Hindu Majority area, the persecuting nature of the Muslim miscreants is rampant over the Hindu 'jimmis'. The illegal Muslim settlers from Bangladesh are reigning the underworld of North 24 Parganas and they are the obvious cause of the criminal warfare in the sub-divisional town of Barasat. 

The law and order situation in West Bengal at a stake due to increasing and sporadic Muslim Hooliganism under a passive support derived from minority appeasement policy of West Bengal Government.
