Govt. policy of appeasement and minority quota challenged in Calcutta High Court

Bengal reaction for govt’s appeasement policy for minority. PIL against govt’s quota for Muslims.

Upananda Brahmachari Kolkata Nov 26, 2010.

Whatever the score cut is in the Guangzhou Asian Games 2010 for the Bengalis, the West Bengal State Govt (read as Ruling Fascists CPIM Party) and the opposition side (consider it as preposterous Trinmool Congress), both of them are wrestling for the Gold Medal in the “2011 State Assembly Election event”, wooing the minority vote-bank through blatant appeasement of the Muslim Minorities in Bengal.

When a sinking boat of Left Front tries to manage a safe anchoring by its navigator like Abdul Razzak Molla (as projected as next ever Muslim Chief Minister of Bengal), the racing car of Trinmool Congress aspires to touch the victory line of ‘Change’ with a bosom co-pilot like Idrish Ali or Taha Siddique, allowing the share of the prize money in the shape of a Deputy Chief Minister, if entered into the Writers’ Buildings. The Muslim quota is now all set to the mind of Bengal politics for its survival for the power to rule.

In an interview, state cabinet minister Abdul Razzak Molla publicly announced once that if Ms. Mamta Banerjee allows a quota of 25% reservation in Railway employment, then he must join TMC, leaving CPIM without any hesitation. Though it lies with the statistics about the push of minority people in the Rly employment so far, the State Govt rapidly announced a 175 crore rupees development package for the Muslim minorities of Bengal including two Muslim universities, huge loans from West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation for the Muslim unemployed youths and covering 90% of the Muslim population under the Reservation Quota under the severely backward status in the OBC (Other Backward Classes) in West Bengal. This ought to be a point of irritation for the Scheduled Caste, Tribes and OBC people who is supposed to be a deprived section after having a continued reservation facilities in the face of non-implementation and sarcasm for it.

As a result, the reservations for Muslim OBCs, announced by the West Bengal government, have come under the scanner of the Calcutta High Court, as challenged by some forums connected with the interests of OBC people under Hindu fold.

A Public interest litigation (PIL) was moved in the Calcutta High Court today challenging the notifications issued on September 24, 2010 by the state government for the reservation of the Muslim OBCs.

The president of the Confederation of Other Backward Classes, SC, ST and Minorities, a social organisation, Nilmadhab Karmakar, filed a PIL on 12th instant seeking an order to strike down the notification of September 24. Hearing the petition today, the Division Bench of Chief Justice Jay Narayan Patel and Justice Ashim Roy directed the state government to file an affidavit within four weeks. Counsel of Karmakar advocate Kartick Chandra Kapash pointed out that the state government had declared reservation for the OBC under two categories — A and B. In category A, there are 56 castes, of which 54 belongs to Muslim OBCs. [ Category A is ment for severely backward – more than 90% is Muslim and Category B is meant for moderately backward – more than 80% is Hindu]. According to the notification 10 per cent posts in government service, local and statutory authorities and educational institutions would be reserved for those castes prescribed in category A, under a top most priority as policy decision. And seven per cent posts in government service would be reserved for those under category B. According to category B, several castes belonging to both Hindus and Muslims would get the benefit of reservation, under general priority.

Senior counsel for the present PIL, K C Kapash told that the State Govt adopted a discriminatory policy dividing the OBC people on the basis of religion of Hindu & Muslim, which is not only un-constitutional and un-ethical, it will surely promote communal disharmony in the long run as an obvious effect.

In the earlier instance, another PIL was filed in the Andhra High Court to restrain that Andhra Pradesh Govt for allowing such communal reservation for Muslims. Joydeep Mukherjee, an eminent Lawyer of West Bengal is contemplating another suit to Supreme Court of India in the same matter, as per available references. But the question before us, what the intention of the Government and the Opposition is. Whether they want to promote a Sharia Law for the Shariat loving people with the help of the all constitutional facilities or its total violation. Or, otherwise, a full constitutional supports and privileges to those public who strictly adhere the secular constitution without any religious law to strike out the secular identity of Indian Constitution. A serious matter to think about.

Come back Taslima :: Activists call for Taslima’s return to Kolkata

............................................
Sambuddha Gupta || Kolkata.
............................................

So far three long years passed away stealthily, still Taslima Nasreen is yet to come back to her most beloved city of Kolkata, due to the pressure of communal elements and obviously for the indulgence of the vote – monger political frenzies, allowing free hand to the fundamental freemasons.

Many award winners viz. Kurt Tucholsky Prize, Sakharov Prize , Ananda Literary Award and many others, Taslima Nasrin took refuge in West Bengal in 2004 as driven out from Bangaladesh by the fundamental Jamat-e-Islami Party in 1994 under the regime of Begum Khalead Zia, the then Prime minister of Bangladesh.

But, Taslima was compelled to leave her second home, by facing a staunch opposition from the orthodox Muslims through a drastic rioting in Kolkata in Nov, 21st, 2007, out of an irritating debate for her book “Dikhondito”.

Since then, some human right activists and forums of intellectuals advocating free-thinking, free-speech and free-writing conduct a protest meeting against “Anti Taslima propaganda by the fundamentalists” and the inaction of the State to “Bring back Taslima to uphold freedom of expression and secular ideas”.

These ‘human rights’ forums and the ‘save the nature’ organizations under the banner “Paschimbanger Janney” (i.e. For the cause of West Bengal) and CAAMB ( Campaign Against Atrocities on Minorities in Bangladesh), jointly organized a sit on demonstration on 21st Nov. 2010, afternoon in front of Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. The mum assemblers distributed leaflets, displayed banners and posters and demanded return of Taslima to her loveliest city of Kolkata, again.

From the organizers it was briefed to the press that all the political parties are playing the ‘religious card’ to make gain in the minority vote bank, whether they are in the Government or in the opposition side. So all the parties including their intelligentsia have drawn a nefarious design to disprove the return of Taslim in Kolkata. As per Mohit Roy, a key person in CAAMB, “this is quite contradictory to call this city as a citadel of freedom of expression, when the rights of a writer and a humanist are infringed in such a way in the hands of fundamental hooliganism”.

Through the leaflets, the organizers tried to convey that despite of canvassing the ideals of secularism and opposing the practice of any religion by the Communist, the ruling Left Front Government in West Bengal uses to capitalize the bare religious sentiment of a particular community. And the opposition also in the fray of such appeasement that occurred the situations like Taslima to Deganga. The organizers expressed their deep concern when the

impartial Bengali society finds the similarity between CPIM, Trinmool or Congress in the issue of political appeasement to a particular community. They said that in this matter of appeasement and instigation to a particular community, there is no difference between Mohammed Salim Of CPIM, Idrish Ali of Trinmool Congress or the Siddikullah Chowdhury of Jamat e Ulema Hind.

The assembly opposed the interference of the State in the matter of Freedom of a Writer in connection with constructivism in ideas and ideals.

The crowd for the gathering in a very good numbers marked the eminence of so many personalities in the sphere of literature, art & culture, social activities and other fields, including Mohit Roy and Chayn Roy (CAAMB), Swati Mitra ( Women against oppression), Deboyoti Roy (Ambedkar Study Circle), Srimanthan Arya (Rashtriyo Adhikar Mancho) and Prokash Das(Swadesh Samhati Sangbad).

Bring Taslima Nasreen back to Kolkata: Mahasweta Devi

Staff Reporter || The Hindu

On the third anniversary of the departure of controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen from the city on Monday, Bengali writer and activist Mahasweta Devi demanded that the exiled author, be allowed to return to Kolkata and implored “those in favour of change” to join her in the cause.

Mahasweta Devi, who is known to be close to Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, invoked the party's slogan of “change,” in a written statement stating her demand while also criticising the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

“I also ask those in favour of change to come forward,” she urged questioning why a writer will not find a place in the city of literary greats like Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.

All kinds of criminals can stay in the city, but Taslima can not. Her only fault is that she is a writer, Mahasweta Devi added.

“The way Taslima Nasreen was forced to leave the city is one of the reasons why CPI (M) is being asked to leave West Bengal. The notice for her departure was an unpardonable offence,” she said.

Mahasweta Devi's statement was read out at an event organised by Women Against Oppression, an organisation that observed the day as “Lajja Divas,” a day of shame. Activists claimed that both the State Government and the opposition were distancing themselves from Ms. Nasreen for the sake of vote bank politics.

Following violence in the city by protestors of the All-India Minority Forum, Ms. Nasreen was moved to Jaipur on November 22, 2007 and there after to New Delhi. Eventually, she was asked to leave the country only returning at intervals wait-ing for her visa to be rene-wed.

Ms. Nasreen, who has maintained that she would prefer to live in Kolkata – “her second home,” is currently living in New York.

Bring back Taslima, demand intellectuals

22 November 2010 || The Statesman Kolkata.

statesman news service

Kolkata, 22 Nov: Intellectuals today observed Lajja Diwas, organised by an NGO, Women Against Oppression (WAO), and demanded that Taslima Nasreen should be brought back to the city immediately.

Several members of the civil society gathered at the Press Club today to observe Lajja Diwas, the day when Taslima Nasreen was forced to leave the city on 22 November, 2007.

Mr Sujato Bhadra, social activist, slammed the state government for not being able to take a firm stand on the issue. He said that Taslima was forced to leave not because of religion but because of political gains.

The fact that the Union government has to keep her in an undisclosed place proves its failure in providing safety to artists and writers. It is indeed a matter of shame that a writer had to leave the cultural capital, that is, Kolkata, he added. “It is a secular country and forcing someone out on the pretext of being unreligious is totally unacceptable,” he said.

Mr Pachu Ray, another social activist, said that if indeed winds of change are blowing in the state, let Taslima’s return to the city be a part of it. Reiterating that the state government has failed to protect her rights and given her honour she deserved, he demanded that she should be brought back to the city and accepted here immediately.

The intellectuals further said that creativity is being censured everywhere in the country be it burning author Rohinton Mistry’s book called Such A Long Journey in Mumbai or be it uproar over MF Hussain’s paintings.

Poet Joy Goswami was also present at the meeting and condemned attack on literary personalities.

The decision to ask Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen to leave Kolkata is one of the reasons why the Left Front government in West Bengal will have to go, noted writer Mahasweta Devi said.

In a written statement to the NGO the Magsaysay Award-winning writer said the move happened “under pressure from a particular group of people”.

“To take away the freedom of writing from a writer is not justified and we want Taslima back in the city,” she said and appealed to those working for bringing about a “change” in the state to fight for the writer's return.

Not a riot, but an Islamic Onslaught : CAAMB Reports on Deganga

..................
Deganga Visited – not a riot, but an Islamic Onslaught

A CAAMB Report 13 September 2010

There was looting, burning for three days. Military was called. Deganga is just hardly 45 km away towards northeast from Kolkata. But no TV camera reached there, no interview of victims

shown in any TV channel. After two days, some newspapers reported only of ‘violence between two communities’.

No reporting about the identity of the attackers, even if well-known to everybody there. No Human Rights groups went there. No intellectual brigade (Paribartankami - pro-changers) went there, not even a statement by the Santras Virodhi Mancha, the newly formed body to talk against all kinds of terror, both from the state and non-state actors. So some of us had to go there and report about the burning Deganga. It is perhaps the test case what the Hindus of West Bengal will have to face in the new CHANGE that is swaying West Bengal. In a nutshell, our findings indicate that what happened in Deganga was not a riot, but a one-sided pogrom with a clear planning and its successful execution. Read full report below in pdf.

Singherhat proves the necessity of Hindu Organization in Bengal to chase the Bengal Jihadis.

SINGERHAT - Hindus can fight and defeat the Bengal Islamists, if there is Hindu Organization like Hindu Samhati.

Only a few witnesses, at the moment, are there of the horrific deeds of partition, and a fewer of them are hale and hearty to narrate the developments that did change the Indian subcontinent. But surely those octogenarians and their immediate scions are desolate (these days) watching the plights of Hindus and how its indigenous leadership has failed to establish a clout of its own on the whole. But there were indeed good hopes in the initial years, especially among refugees of (erstwhile) undivided Punjab and Bengal, as they thought independent India, unlike Pakistan, would give the Hindu community its coveted rights. Had those individuals predicted the ongoing incidents, they definitely would have asked their descendants to adhere to martial trainings as well apart from opting for businesses or services.

Here is the reality – positions of Hindus are getting vulnerable to Islamic marauders increasingly with the passing of each day almost and the best specimen of this can’t be save the length and breadth of West Bengal, undergoing the mounting onrushes. The recent incident of Singerhat (under Kulpi Police Station, South 24 Parganas, a some 60 km south located from Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal) can be an eye-opener to the ignorants, still having somewhat conviction in the inexplicable saga of state-sponsored Secularism. The incident that did initiate as a mere scuffle between the two communities, under the auspices of their youth representatives, turned into a major schism, that is becoming a major feature in parts of West Bengal these days.

What did lead to the scuffle? Well, as usual, the brawl was instigated by the Muslim youths who leave no stone unturned to hurl ridicules on the Hindu beliefs. The Muslim youths were found to malign Hindu pantheon and beat Hindus mercilessly but what did amaze them at this time was a grand resistance from Hindus (energized by Hindu Samhati) equipped and also competent enough to resist any nefarious design. Well, the sole credit goes to Shyamal Patra, local Rural Guard Party (Rural Police Volunteer Force) leader and also a pro-Hindu activist.

But, what did happen afterwards proves the existing stance of the state structure of India, committed in considering Muslims as Caesar’s wife (who can’t be questioned ever). The colossal Hindu contingent of Karanjali Gram Panchayat comprising 20 villages under Kulpi PS, South 24 Parganas made the local governance green about the gills or simply perturbed. Mr. Patra who was asked to visit the local police station (PS) for a meeting was completely harassed and also mentally tortured during the meeting, participated by local leaders of all parties (Trinamool Congress and CPM) also, by the police and administration.

What is more striking, the police, aghast at any form of Hindu virility and adept in placating Muslim thugs, did not miss out any opportunity to hound Mr. Patra in the hospital (where he was admitted as per doctor’s advices) even and did harangue him in all possible manners. However, the Hindu manliness, at this time, was too for the police and administration along with political parties. As a result, police had to assure that there would be no more problems in Singerhat and the local administration would fully lend the Hindu population a hand, to ensure that no Hindu properties would be appropriated by dishonest Muslim encroachers.

The assurance was enough to calm down Hindu strugglers. But a leopard can’t change its spots…………….as far as fresh sources are concerned, local Muslims under the headship of Trinamool Congress leaders like Akbar Paik, Habib Purkait (heads of Karanjali and Kamarchak Gram Panchayat respectively) and Shahabuddin Gaji, influential CPM leader in the neighborhood, are planning to inflict the worst attacks on the Hindus. The first and foremost intent, at this time, is to raze the local Hindu organization in order that Muslims can conquer the Singerhat market area yet again and drive all Hindu shopkeepers and others for good.

This time the rural jehadis in Bengal tried to make a big collision with the Hindus in Singherhat on 23rd August '10 and pawned by the Hindu resistance force though a little bit late. Police intervened the matter with a political fervour of protecting the Islamic intentions. But, amazingly all the antagonist Hindu elements compelled to restrain themselves , after a Hindu mob of 500 strength demonstrated before the Kulpi police station against the assault upon Mr. Patra and other Hindu locals blocked the road (NH 117) at Singherhat, both on 28th August to register their protest over increasing Muslim hooliganism. Local police assured to take action accordingly.

Hindu Samhati is also keeping tabs on the entire situation to forestall any untoward incident.

Mamata's namaz in Railway advertisement creates uproar

Mamata's namaz in rly ad creates uproar

TNN, Sep 11, 2010

KOLKATA: Desperate for power in Bengal, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is missing no opportunity to grab Muslim votes. A recent railway advertisement with her picture offering namaz in the backdrop of Islamic motifs a crescent moon and star and outlines of a mosque has created an uproar.

That Mamata calls imams and maulvis for discussions is well known. People are also familiar with her offering namaz, especially during the anti-land acquisition stir in Singur in 2008. What's raising eyebrows is the use of a railway advertisement for catching Muslim votes.

"I don't understand the connection between religious motifs and a nursing college in Garden Reach. This is exploitation of religious sentiments. We are a multi-religious society. How can public money be abused like this?" asked CPM central committee member and ex- MP Mohammed Salim.

BJP leader Tathagata Roy said, "The state has no religion. How can religious edifice be part of a government advertisement? This reveals her duplicity. She hasn't converted so how can she offer namaz? It's extremely improper."

Predictably, S M Norur Rahman Barkati, Shahi Imam of Tipu Sultan mosque, did not see anything wrong in the ad. "We're happy with the design. We don't see anything wrong in this goodwill gesture."

Aziz Mubaraki, additional secretary to Barkati, said, "If the PM can call for iftar dinner and send select groups for Haj, what's wrong with this ad? Don't government officials sport tilaks? Don't police stations have temples?"

Thespian Bratya Basu, who is close to the Trinamool chief, said, "We claim we belong to a secular country. But do we really believe in secularism?

On the contrary, there is communal feeling among elite Hindus and Muslims. Mamata is bridging this gap. It's the right message to a community that feels let down."

Railways sources said several photographs were sent for the minister's approval. "The minister's cell approved the one in which she is seen offering namaz," a source said, adding that officials were asked to include the motifs and the photograph of Kaaba in the ad by those close to the minister. "The minister has equal respect for all religions. In mid-April, we brought out three ads to greet people on Poila Baisakh, Baisakhi and Puthandu (Tamil New Year's Day)," said Soumitra Majumdar, CPRO, South Eastern Railway.

Community leader Siddiqullah Chowdhury, the state secretary of the Jamiat-e-Ulama-e-Hind who took to the streets calling for banishing Taslima Nasrin from Bengal, said, "I haven't seen the advertisement. But I feel that politics should be delinked from religion.''

Re: Anti-Hindu Atrocities in Deganga in North 24 Parganas District of West Bengal, India
======================

Dated September 09, 2010
Dear Dr. Singh and Mr. Bhattachaya,

A situation of utmost urgency has developed in Deganga in Uttar 24 Parganas where anti-Hindu communalists are attacking Hindus, and desecrating Hindu temples in Hindu-majority India. Shops belonging to Hindus have been looted, public property has been torched, and individuals have been assaulted based entirely on their Hindu religion. We are writing on behalf of the entire community including non-resident Bengali community from India. The state government has been utterly failed to control the violence.
There are credible reports that the rioters have assaulted and injured police personnel and their lives are hanging by a thread. The “Rapid Action Force” is nowhere to be found. There are also credible reports that the riots are organized and led by anti-Hindu groups and are not spontaneous.
These kinds of events against Hindus have occurred multiple times in the Basirhat and Barasat Subdivisions of North 24 Parganas. Hindu Women have been the worst victims of the Islamist activities, and we need to make sure that they are protected.
We urge your governments to declare martial law and bring in the Army to control this religious violence on Hindus, and attempts for Hindu cleansing as across the border. We also urge your administration for the immediate arrest and prosecution of anti-Hindu terrorists, complete compensation and reparation for the victims, and apologize for breaking of Hindu temples with reconstruction of the same with due honor.
We are shocked by the acts of censorship on the part of West Bengal news media. You need to shift the paradigm in perception and accordingly act decisively to prevent the inevitable Hindu exodus which will happen in a very short period making this part of Bengal another Kashmir, for which you will be totally responsible, and history will not pardon you.
Dr Singh and Mr. Bhattacharya, as both of you are refugees, we are assured that you understand the implications of the above statements.
Sincerely yours,

Then no casualty so far reported by the Local Administration or the Ultra Secular Media of West Bengal.

September 7, 2010 : Yesterday (6th Sept.) evening after Iftar, Muslims assembled in the Deganga Mosque (Basirhat SD, North 24 Parganas) and proceeded to a number of Hindu areas, looted and ransacked many Hindu shops and Hindu temples, severely beat up many Hindus, torched 4 public buses. The life of the whole stretch from Berachapa to Kadamgachi has been frozen.

Shani Temple of Kartickpur and Kali Temple of Deganga Biplabi Colony desecrated and ransacked by the rioting Muslims.

Arup Ghosh, Officer in Charge of Deganga police station is seriously injured by the rampaging Muslims. His head and hand have been fractured. Several other policemen also injured. Police had to fire to control the Muslim mob, but with no effect.

Yesterday at 11 am, the dispute started when some fanatic Muslims started to dig the passage of a Durga Temple in Chattal Pally village which is situated just beside the Deganga Police Station. This Durga Temple is at least 25 year old. In past, Muslims tried many times to stop the Durgapuja. Hindus resisted their ill effort. This Chattal Pally and Deganga P.S. come under the district of North 24 Parganas, and its Parliamentary constituency is Basirhat. In 2009 election, Hazi Nurul Islam of T.M.C. won this constituency defeating long time Communist M.P. Ajay Chakraborty (C.P.I). After this change of power, Hindus of the whole area are facing all types of threat, humiliation, torture and their religious practices are in danger.

When Hindus objected the digging of the Temple passage, Muslims gathered there in large number and started mayhem. Hindus informed the police. Police came and they had to face the jihadi enthusiasm of the Muslims. Officer in Charge injured at that time. Then Muslims threatened that now Roja is going on. After the end of Roja and taking Iftar, they will teach stern lesson to the Hindus. So, after afternoon, Hindus dared not to open their shops on the stretch between Berachapa to Kadamgachhi on the Barasat – Basirhat Road. By this time, large contingent of police and RAF took position. Defying their presence, Muslims gathered in large number in the Deganga Mosque and started looting and destroying the Hindu shops, not in Chattal Pally, but in the big markets of Beliaghata, Deganga and Kartickpur. A big shop of Anil Bangal, a Hindu, has been looted fully among many other shops. Anil Bangal has been seriously injured. More than 25 people have been injured.

Latest position is that Police is not allowing the Hindus to come out of their homes so that they can enquire the damage done by the Muslims and Muslims are roaming freely in front of police force. Overall situation has been worsened. It is alleged that Maqbur Rehman, Mintu Sahaji led the Muslim rioters. It is also alleged that one TMC Hindu leader Ms. Ratna Chowdhury is trying to pressurize police not to take strong steps to arrest the Muslim rampaging mob. The new TMC M.P. Hazi Nurul Islam allegedly influenced the police to remain inactive.

The Muslims are majority in number in the Deganga Block as well as in Basirhat Sub division of North 24 Parganas district. According to 2001 Census report, Muslims were 69.51 percent in Deganga Block. Naturally after nine years, their percentage increased a lot and Hindus in that Block are living a life almost like Pakistan. This North 24 Parganas district, is the largest border district where the highest number of Hindu refugees took shelter after being persecuted in erstwhile East Pakistan and present Bangladesh. In spite of that, the eight Blocks among total 29 of this districts became Muslim majority blocks in 2001 census.

Yesterday’s violence in Deganga has been reported only in the NE Bangla channel of electronic media of West Bengal. All other channels including Star Anand, as always they do, are mum and suppressing the misdeeds of the fanatic Muslims.

As per available information the Rioting Muslims started the violence afresh in the 7th. morning and restricted the entry of any body to the area to smoothen their jehadi activities there. “Hindu Samhati” leaders rushed to the area with Hindu Existence” (HE) media team to boost up the morale of the fighting Hindu youths there, but blocked by the local Muslims at Golabari point. They are trying hard to reach the spot at any cost. Reports came in that Hindus are not allowed to enter in those areas of Kartickpur and tortured by the Islamists even by checking the genitals.

Today, when contacted with Mr. Jyotiprio Mallik,(+919433446800) State leader and in-charge of TMC of North 24 Pgs District, he told the HE correspondent that Military has been deployed in the area just now about 11.40 am and gradually taking over the control. So far 7 persons are killed in the firing of Military contingent. Mr. Mallik expressed his utter astonishment by the severity of the incident of erecting a disputed fence between Hindu and Muslim holdings. He also told that he was also fearing to enter the area of open swords and fire arms in the hands of fundamentalists. He told that the overall communal situation of the area is very bad now. Md. Mortaza Hossian is the M.L.A. of Deganga Assembly Constituency. As the M.P. and M.L.A. are both of Muslim community, the minority Hindus in this area always face the persecution of majority Muslim here without any redressal.

One Shakuntala (name changed) in the South 24 Pgs was informed in the early morning about the awesome condition of her relatives residing in Kartickpur areas where destruction of Hindu temple and torture upon her relatives were tremendous. She tried to take up the matter to the State TMC leaders to rescue the persecuted Hindus of the Deganga area. When contacted Mr. Partha Chatterjee,(+919831002887) Opposition leader Of WB State Assembly, he cut off the mobile phone hearing some words without any comment. But a responsive Mr. Mukul Roy,(+919830040931) State TMC leader and Central Minister of State of Shipping, stated that the CPIM is doing this nefarious work of communal riot. But when Shakuntala categorically told Mr. Roy that one notorious Hazi Nurul Islam is behind the communal tension, Mr Roy said, ” I know him well. But our first duty is to calm down the tension in favour of the peace loving community,”

Both the TMC and CPIM is trying to take political advantage out of the situation and bye-passing the activities of communal Muslims in the name of restoring the peace and harmony.
